Alright so now into the poker world, im happy to say lately I have been feeling much more mature at this game than I ever have. I also feel much stronger at the game than I ever have before too. I have been working on my game like crazy! I have all three husng hyper video packs, I have been reviewing my hand histories in universal replayer, I read the Mersennary Ebook, and I have been doing leakfinders with the other regulars on skype. It has all been very helpful.
But this is not what I mean by maturity, I mean lately I rarely tilt and when I do I take a break, I have been very strict with my brm, I do not get upset when I run below EV, I do not take shots when I know I should not be taking shots, and I do not play poker when I feel I am not playing my best game (however this is not entirely true, and is still something i need to work on). This is also very helpful with keeping a balanced life and always playing my most +EV game. I realize now that I work to hard for my buy ins to be spewing them off when im tilted or not playing my best. All these things have signficantly increased my confidence.
I was lying in bed the other night and thinking about a couple unprofitable sessions and both times it was because I was in the wrong mind set and playing my B game. So I have been very disciplined about not playing at sub-optimal times. There are lots of players who have profitable A games. The difference between them and the pros is that the pros will quit before you see his B game, where as the recreational player will start playing his B game and lose everything he made playing his A game + more. It is when your playing your B game that your are most prone to tilting and losing the biggest amount of money.
I used to get tilted, take shots and spew off my money.. Now im the one taking money off the players who are tilted and taking shots :)
